Kefeta’s
Social Grant will be offered to coalition members who identify problems in their
respective communities and come up with an innovative solution that needs
funding. The main objectives of Social Grants are:
- Build trust and start healthy dialogue between youth and their communities
- Support Youth Coalitions to bring social action and youth empowerment opportunities to address key community issues impacting the marginalized youths and beyond
- Promotes Civic Action
- Increase the level of motivation towards Civil Engagement
- Solve a community issue that has impact on marginalized youth
- Build the Youth’s Confidence and skills by empowering them to take the leading role in developing and solving community issues that have impact on marginalized Youths
Social grants will be paired with matching from the community. This matching percentage varies with the grant and can be in cash or in kind.
Criteria
Requirements
- A completed proposal signed by the grantee, CSO, and YEFD and approved by TEC
- Signed agreement
- A detailed budget with a narrative
- Fund has to be utilized within the stipulated period in the work plan or
- Explanation has to be provided
- Fund has to be utilized in accordance with the approved activity
- Fund has to be utilized in accordance with the approved budget
- Progress report has to be submitted on time as per SOW for evaluation by the technical committee and in case it is found that proper efforts are not being
- made further release of funding may cease
- Final report has to be submitted at the end grant and one year after the termination of the seed grant, including grants received and publication
- Additional items that would help the grant but not required
- A recommendation from a non-family member
- Information of related project if applicable
- Photos and video of the project or project’s website
